The Grays Urban Art Trail: Project

We Are Creatives Thurrock is establishing an Urban Art Trail in Grays to enhance its vibrancy and add to the artistic and cultural significance of the town. The sculptures, mosaics, and street murals will be beacons of art for the borough. It will complement the planned regeneration programme in Grays and reflect the town's history and influence its future direction.
The River Thames is the tidal highway that flows past Grays and has shaped much of its past, its present and undoubtedly its future. The historic town of Grays has been moulded by the immigration of people brought in from across the world, aboard ships that docked along the Grays and Thurrock shoreline.

Grays is proud of its rich history and flourishes today as a multi-cultural community that stands ready to embrace the future together.
We will be working with a diverse range of artists, both National and International, emerging artists, mid-career and established artists. We will be embracing multi-cultural, LGBQTIA+ and Disabled artists, focusing on the pivotal role of local artists within the trail.
Our vision is to engage local communities with workshops and school visits, integrating the trail into the heart of these communities where it becomes a nexus for civic pride. The trail will inspire creativity across generations, encouraging positive Mental Health and open up new conversation about connectivity and the environment.
We aim to become an intrinsic part of the cultural axis of the South East that encompasses organisations such as Focal Point, Metal Southend, Firstsite Colchester and Creative Estuary.
We welcome and actively encourage community enagagement and your feedback on this project. Please email info@WeAreCreativesThurrock.UK
