The WeAreCreativesThurrock.UK community take over event, Inclusion Infusion, at The Quay Lakeside shopping centre is shaping up to be an artistic Mardi Gras of performance, exhibitions and music. It's free for everyone to enjoy.
Headliners, like The Big-Sing who have performed with Jamie Callum and Kylie Minogue will take to the stage. Likewise, The Music Man Project (MMP), who have adorned the stages of The London Palladium and The Albert Hall will be entertaining audiences (watch out Thurrock, we are working with organisations to enable local residents with learning disabilities to bring MMP opportunities here) . The amazing, award winning local talent of singer, songwriter and musician Anna-Marie Child's (check out her YouTube channel for proof) will be lighting up the stage as well as local stars from Thameside Theatre (read more below).

But don't be fooled this is truly a community event. There's FREE FACE PAINTING provided by local artist Jane Bonner to get you into the celebratory mood.
We have brought in Eazee Learning who will not only be dropping tunes throughout the day, they will we also be offering FREE DJ WORKSHOPS to the public. They are giving their Eazee learners an opportunity to showcase at the event...so bring your happy feet.
The accomplished, local and talented muralists, often a favourite for large scale commissioned work in Thurrock, Kirsty and Brittany, from K & B design, are the first to be given permission by Lakeside to do a live large scale mural. This painting is no less than 4 metres in length and K and B are generously donating this to Stafford Clays primary school.
Reach out for Mental Health have also reached out to local artists and crafters and are collaborating with them to raise money by exhibiting and selling handmade artwork, jewellery and crafts on the day . These artists will be demonstrating their crafts and engaging the public with their skills, whilst highlighting that mental health matters.
Fine artist Stephen Kharmis will be showcasing on Lakeside's premium space too. He produces amazingly detailed drawings with one of the simplest of tools; graphite pencil. Brought up in the care system, he has used his life and talent to do so much good in the community and he remains an inspirational role model for so many. As always, he loves to give back and engage people in the arts. Stephen will be running creative competitions with prizes throughout the day.

We are delighted to welcome The Thurrock Camera club who will be celebrating their centenary with us and are exhibiting and showcasing their achievements. It's easy to see that they are a talented and passionate group that have been going for a century and are truly community focused. They are using their skills to cover the event.
For a more novel experience Flawless Piñatas run by a local community builder will be doing a live demonstration of piñata making and taking orders for handcrafted bespoke designs ahead of Halloween and Christmas.
The Thurrock Nepalese and Ghurkha Community will be exhibiting their cultural showcase and are eager to connect with locals and demonstrate their cultural heritage.
Whilst we are talking about art, culture and heritage, let's not forget that this WeAreCreativesThurrock.UK event is supported by Thameside's COVID-19 RECOVERY FUND and the community at Thameside Theatre. They have recently flung open their doors since the first COVID-19 restrictions. They are providing previews of their upcoming shows, including their winter panto and a variety of performers who have been eager to grace the stage with us.
With the Thameside closure still looming over their heads, as true professionals their actions speak louder than words... the show must go on. We are hoping that everyone in the community demonstrates their support by by attending as many of Thameside's Theatre's performances as possible. Drama, music and dance builds so much confidence in the young and old, which breeds well-being into all areas of life. So let's support them and preserve all engagement in the arts of Thurrock with care!
WeAreCreativesThurrock.UK hope to see you on October 2nd from 10am-6pm!
