I love the edgy rawness of street photography. In order to uphold the integrity and authenticity of the genre, I shoot first and talk later. Capturing transient moments , in a chaotic environment, is a challenge I enjoy. I am constantly looking for good composition and I never want to influence the interactions, events and changing environment as they unravel before me. Capturing the historical, social embeddedness of these moments is a major theme in my photography. I often highlight social issues, social change or marginalised groups because I often feel that these matters call for a deeper critical discourse analysis in our society.
