Jackie Burns is a Fellow of the International Association for Astronomical Artists, a science communicator, and a multi-disciplined artist. Her media includes, but is not exclusive to, acrylic on canvas, drawing, digital, fibre, glass, metal, and jewellery. Her Mission Statement is: Inspiring people to the awe and beauty of space and astronomy.
Her recent exhibitions include NASA’s 60th Anniversary Art Exhibition at Houston, Texas (2018); ConFusion, Virtual Art Show (2021). She was interviewed by the BBC Arts Correspondent, David Sillito, in 2019 as part of the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon Landing. The interview was broadcast during all the major BBC news bulletins, and broadcast on all of the BBC international news outlets. She was also interviewed by Channel5 News for the same international anniversary.
